Governance

Policy & Advocacy

Embedding digital health rights into national healthcare strategies and budgets.

⚖️

Technology cannot transform health systems that lack the policy frameworks to adopt, fund, and regulate it. TAHTA's Policy & Advocacy programme works at the highest levels of government to create the enabling environment that health technology needs to thrive.

We provide technical assistance to Ministries of Health drafting national digital health strategies, advise on data protection legislation that balances patient privacy with legitimate research use, and advocate for ring-fenced digital health budget lines within national health allocations.

At regional and global level, we represent African health-tech perspectives at WHO, African Union, and World Economic Forum forums — ensuring that policy discussions in Geneva and Davos are informed by frontline realities in Kampala and Conakry.

Our flagship policy contribution, the Model African Health Data Governance Law, has been adopted as a template by two countries and is under review in a further four.
