Digital Health Systems
National-level data integration and community health information management.
Africa's healthcare systems have long been fragmented and disparate, paper-based records mean that a patient visiting three facilities has three separate, non-communicating files. TAHTA's Digital Health Systems programme fixes this at its root.
We design Community Health Information Management Systems (CHIMS) built on open standards that allow health data to flow under strict patient consent and data sovereignty controls between CHW mobile apps, clinic EMRs, district dashboards, and national HIS platforms.
Every deployment starts with a thorough needs assessment together with the host Ministry of Health. We provide technical implementation, staff training, and a three-year post-go-live support contract so countries are never left holding unsupported technology.
Our systems are FHIR R4-compliant, offline-capable, and tested for 2G connectivity environments. Security audits are conducted annually by independent third parties.
Key Outcomes
- Deployed in 8 countries to date
- 2.4 million patient records digitised
- Real-time dashboards for 340+ facilities
- Average data-entry time reduced by 68%
- Interoperable with national HIS platforms
